About this role

The casual genetic counsellor for the MAGERS study will provide coverage for the primary genetic counsellor, offering psychiatric genetic counselling to research participants and their families. The role involves obtaining clinical data, designing and executing project components related to the psychological impact of genetic counselling, and assisting with project direction and administrative oversight. This position may include virtual appointments and is based at UBC.

Responsibilities

Provide psychiatric genetic counselling to research participants and family members
Obtain three-generation pedigrees and gather complex clinical and genetic information
Design and execute project components regarding psychological impact of genetic testing

Skills

Qualifications

Master's degree in Medical Genetics or Genetic CounsellingBoard eligible for certification under the Canadian Association of Genetic CounsellingBoard eligible for certification under the American Board of Genetic Counselling
