Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre
The Gladue Aftercare Worker supports Indigenous clients through the delivery of the Gladue Aftercare Program. They assist clients with recommendations from their Gladue Reports and connect them with community and justice services. The role involves working within a team to provide direct services, referrals, and advocacy in a culturally informed manner.
Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre (TBIFC) is one of the original six Friendship Centres in Ontario and a founding member of the Ontario Federation of Indigenous Friendship Centres (OFIFC). Based in Thunder Bay, it provides culturally grounded, client-centred supports across the life journey—helping Indigenous individuals and families access wellness, youth and family programming, employment/training, and community outreach. The centre promotes Indigenous culture, advocacy and connection to local services, aiming to improve social well‑being and access to supports for urban Indigenous populations. TBIFC works with partners and funders to deliver culturally safe programs tailored to community needs.
