Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre
The Gladue Aftercare Worker delivers the Gladue Aftercare Program by assisting Indigenous clients in following through with sentencing recommendations. The role involves providing direct services, making referrals to community programs, and collaborating within an interdisciplinary team to support trauma-informed outcomes.
Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre (TBIFC) is one of the original six Friendship Centres in Ontario and a founding member of the Ontario Federation of Indigenous Friendship Centres (OFIFC). Based in Thunder Bay, it provides culturally grounded, client-centred supports across the life journey—helping Indigenous individuals and families access wellness, youth and family programming, employment/training, and community outreach. The centre promotes Indigenous culture, advocacy and connection to local services, aiming to improve social well‑being and access to supports for urban Indigenous populations. TBIFC works with partners and funders to deliver culturally safe programs tailored to community needs.
