About this role

The Power Systems Engineer supports Invenergy's grid integration, advanced modeling, and interconnection engineering activities across generation, transmission, and large-load projects. Based in Chicago, the role involves performing power system analysis, reviewing ISO/RTO interconnection studies, and coordinating engineering efforts to meet evolving grid performance standards. The position collaborates with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure projects comply with regulatory and reliability requirements.

Responsibilities

Perform technical analysis to support grid integration and interconnection activities
Review ISO/RTO interconnection electromagnetic transient studies and evaluate results
Assist with advanced power system modeling including power flow and stability analysis
Coordinate engineering efforts to meet evolving grid performance standards
Support technical diligence efforts related to project acquisitions and M&A opportunities

Skills

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical EngineeringMaster's degree in Electrical EngineeringExperience with PSS/E, PowerWorld, PSLF, or PSCADKnowledge of ISO/RTO interconnection processesFamiliarity with FERC and NERC reliability standards
