Gilbertcentre
The Gilbert Centre is seeking an HIV/HCV Peer Support Worker to leverage lived or living experience in building meaningful relationships with individuals affected by HIV and hepatitis C. This role involves providing one-to-one support, facilitating community connections, assisting with service navigation, and promoting harm reduction principles within a multidisciplinary team. The worker helps reduce stigma and create safer pathways to care while coordinating peer engagement activities and community education.
The Gilbert Centre is a community-based, not-for-profit charitable organization that has been providing programs and services in the Simcoe Muskoka region of Ontario since 1995. It supports people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C, as well as 2S-LGBTQ+ communities, through services including HIV/HCV testing and navigation, harm reduction outreach, sexual health programs for gay and bisexual men, and queer and trans youth programming. The organization also offers Safer Spaces training and consultation to help nonprofits and businesses create more inclusive environments.
