About this role

A temporary, part-time internship or limited practice student role within the Legal Advocate department where you work side-by-side with attorneys to represent underserved indigent clients. You will gain hands-on experience in criminal defense, including trial support, client representation, legal research, and drafting motions in Maricopa County Superior Court.

Responsibilities

Assist attorneys with trial preparation and jury selection processes
Conduct witness interviews and research complex legal issues
Draft and edit legal pleadings, motions, and court memoranda
Represent indigent clients in hearings, settlements, and trial proceedings
Review case files and support assigned attorneys with additional needs
