SHAPE is seeking a qualified Contract Officer to serve as a temporary staff member for an initial 6-month period with the possibility of extension. The role involves performing all duties of a Senior Contracting Officer, including procurement planning, contract negotiation, award execution, and contractor performance management within the NATO Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine (NSATU) organization. The incumbent will also be responsible for developing and refining the post context as the organization matures.
NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) is a political and military alliance of 32 countries from Europe and North America formed to provide collective defence for its members. Its core mission is to defend member countries and their roughly one billion citizens through deterrence and defence, crisis management, and cooperative security. NATO combines political consultation with joint military operations, capability development, exercises, and partnerships to address traditional and emerging threats such as terrorism, cyber and hybrid warfare. It also promotes interoperability, burden-sharing and coordination with partner countries and international organizations.
