Ctao
The On-Site Systems Engineer will work on the commissioning, acceptance, and technical operation of the Large-Sized Telescopes (LSTs) and other observatory systems at the CTAO-North site in La Palma, Spain. The role involves collaborating with the LST Collaboration and Central Organisation teams to manage configuration, documentation, and maintenance processes. The position requires strong systems engineering expertise and the ability to work effectively in a high-altitude observatory environment.
CTAO (Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory) is the international organisation delivering the Cherenkov Telescope Array, a next‑generation ground‑based gamma‑ray observatory. The CTAO Central Organisation coordinates the technological development, construction and operation of the array with the support of countries and an intergovernmental partner. CTA will provide a global facility for high‑energy astrophysics—probing cosmic particle accelerators, transient phenomena and searches for dark matter. The observatory serves the international astronomy community through coordinated instrument development, operations and science programmes.
