Operating Practices Officer

The Operating Practices Officer is responsible for designing, delivering, and continuously improving training programs for Canadian Rail Operating Rules (CROR), Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), Security Awareness, and Rail Safety across Ontario Northland's rail network. The role ensures employees maintain the necessary knowledge, skills, and qualifications to operate safely in a federally regulated rail environment while supporting regulatory compliance and workforce development. This position involves monitoring employee qualifications, providing coaching and remedial training, and maintaining accurate training records to support audit readiness. The incumbent also participates in regulatory and safety initiatives, serving as a subject matter expert on the Rail Safety Management System (RSMS) committee.
