About this role

The Keck School of Medicine, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is seeking a Part-time Pathologists' Assistant to join its team. As an active member of the surgical pathology team, the Pathologists' Assistant will function as an active member of the anatomic pathology team and assist pathologists as necessary. Performs high complexity testing and is responsible for performing duties associated with the gross examination and prosection of tissue for histological examination for both surgical and autopsy pathology.

Responsibilities

Perform gross examination and prosection of tissue for histological examination
Assist pathologists with intraoperative consultations and fresh specimen triage
Identify problem areas and recommend workflow changes for pathology staff

Skills

Qualifications

Bachelor's degreePA certification from the American Society of Clinical PathologyCompletion of an accredited pathology assistant training program
