Ontario Aboriginal HIV/AIDS Strategy (OAHAS) is an Indigenous-led organization in Ontario focused on preventing HIV and supporting people living with HIV in First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities. They provide culturally safe programming—community education, capacity-building for health providers, advocacy, and tailored resources—to reduce transmission and improve access to testing, treatment and supports. OAHAS partners with communities, health services and policymakers to address stigma and systemic barriers while promoting holistic wellness rooted in Indigenous knowledge and leadership. Their work emphasizes community-driven, evidence-informed approaches that centre cultural safety and dignity.
