About this role

The Photonics/Optics Technician supports the development, characterization, and manufacturing of advanced optical and photonic devices, modules, and systems. This role involves hands-on work with optical components, lasers, fiber-optic assemblies, and metrology equipment to build, test, and optimize optical systems for telecommunications and datacenter interconnects. The technician collaborates with scientists and engineers to troubleshoot issues, maintain laboratory equipment, and ensure accurate documentation of experimental results.

Responsibilities

Assemble and integrate optical and opto-mechanical systems according to engineering drawings
Perform precision fiber alignment and optical coupling of photonic devices and modules
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including optical spectrum analyzers and power meters
