Police Trainee

This non-sworn, training-level position involves attending an approved Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) basic police academy to acquire the technical knowledge, skills, and physical capabilities required for police service. During training, incumbents perform related duties such as assisting in prevention, collecting information, and transporting people and materials without police powers. Successful completion of the academy and a final review by the Police Chief leads to promotion to a sworn Police Officer position.
