The Buck Institute is an independent, nonprofit biomedical research center in Novato, California focused on the biology of aging and extending healthy human lifespan. Its scientists conduct basic and translational research into aging and age‑related diseases—such as Alzheimer’s, cancer, metabolic and immune dysfunction—using interdisciplinary teams that combine genetics, cell biology, systems approaches and chemistry. The institute also runs graduate and postdoctoral training, partners with industry and clinical collaborators to accelerate therapies, and shares discoveries through public outreach and events.
