About this role

As a Power Systems Engineer I at Caterpillar, you will support the design, development, and implementation of generator control switchgear systems within the Electric Power Division. The role involves executing automation and control solutions for complex power projects, managing retrofits, and collaborating with cross-functional teams from concept through commissioning. You will also provide technical support to sales and product teams while developing and modifying PLC and HMI applications.

Responsibilities

Design and implement low- and medium-voltage generator paralleling control systems
Convert legacy PLC programs to current platforms and validate performance
Partner with CAD designers to produce wiring and assembly drawings
Perform technical risk assessments and support field performance of assigned projects
Provide technical support to AES Sales and Product Support Center teams
