About this role

BMO is seeking a Principal Engineer to build and operate the core infrastructure that governs how AI runs at the enterprise, including the AI Gateway, Policy Engine, and Identity Fabric. This hands-on role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining production infrastructure that ensures AI applications are safe, governed, and scalable across multiple cloud environments. The engineer will own capabilities end-to-end, ensuring operability, latency, and correctness while producing runtime evidence for regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

Design and operate enterprise AI platform infrastructure including gateways and policy engines
Build and maintain observability, audit, and identity fabric capabilities for regulated AI workloads
Mentor engineering teams and establish technical standards for platform scalability and security
