About this role

The Human Frontier Collective is building a small cohort of researchers to work on the empirical foundations of AI safety in partnership with Scale Labs. Scholars will own substantial parts of safety research projects, working alongside mentors to find where models fail, check safety controls, and study AI agent behavior. The role involves turning open research questions into work that improves how frontier AI systems are evaluated and safeguarded.

Responsibilities

Own research projects end to end from hypothesis to controlled experiments
Build measurement tools including evaluation harnesses and agent environments
Produce reproducible code and technical writing for top ML conferences
