About this role

As a Senior Applied AI Engineer at Pleo, you will build and ship AI-powered product features ranging from RAG systems to agentic workflows based on the company's extensive spend data. Leading one of the first hires in the team, you will collaborate closely with engineers, data scientists, and product managers to design, evaluate, and deploy real-world solutions for over 40,000 customers. This role requires strong Python engineering skills and the ability to own the full AI-product lifecycle from prototype to production observability.

Responsibilities

Design and build end-to-end RAG systems for specific product use cases
Own the full AI-product lifecycle including prompt design and production deployment
Build evaluation datasets and automated evaluation pipelines
Instrument AI features for production observability and drift detection
Partner with the GenAI Platform team to identify infrastructure needs
