About this role

As a Senior Modelling & Simulation Engineer for Flight Control Systems, you will provide technical leadership for developing and integrating high-fidelity simulation models into Vertical Aerospace's aircraft systems. You will define modelling strategies, validate control laws, and support certification activities across desktop, real-time, and hardware-in-the-loop environments. This role requires collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure simulation credibility and traceability for the Valo eVTOL aircraft.

Responsibilities

Lead the development of Flight Control System modelling capability and technical architecture
Own the development, integration, and validation of flight control models and control laws
Provide technical leadership for integrating simulation models into the wider aircraft environment
Drive analysis of system latency, interface behavior, and failure scenarios to improve accuracy
Support aircraft certification activities through model verification, validation, and evidence generation
