About this role

The Senior Performance Engineer on the Behavior Planning team owns latency, throughput, memory utilization, and thread safety for the real-time decision-making pipeline. This role involves profiling the software stack, enforcing performance budgets, and building execution guardrails to guarantee deterministic, high-throughput execution. The engineer will work alongside roboticists to optimize system performance and ensure low-overhead, cache-friendly C++ implementations.

Responsibilities

Instrument and optimize the real-time behavior planning pipeline for latency and throughput
Re-engineer thread boundaries and synchronization logic to maximize multi-core parallel processing
Build automated micro-benchmarks and runtime telemetry into CI/CD pipelines to prevent performance regressions
