Eventual is seeking a Software Engineer to build core capabilities for Daft, a distributed data engine purpose-built for multimodal AI and Physical AI systems. The role involves designing and implementing components for query optimization, execution engines, distributed scheduling, and storage integrations with modern data lake technologies. Candidates will work autonomously within a small, focused team to solve difficult technical challenges in systems programming.
Eventual is building Daft, a generational data-processing engine that makes simple and reliable multimodal data processing possible across images, video, audio, and text with the same ease as SQL for tabular data. Its mission is to liberate engineers from distributed-systems complexity by enabling declarative queries that can process petabytes of data and power AI systems that were previously impossible. The team comprises systems and AI veterans who witnessed the autonomous-vehicle revolution’s infrastructure pain, and Daft already processes petabytes daily for companies like Amazon, MobilEye, and CloudKitchens. They’re looking to partners and employees who want to rewrite the infrastructure layer holding back AI innovation.
