About this role

Cloudinary is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to lead the development of infrastructure for AI agents and autonomous pipelines within the Agent Experience (AX) R&D team. This position requires defining API design standards for agentic workflows while collaborating across a polyglot backend environment.

Responsibilities

Build API-first account provisioning and machine-to-machine authentication systems
Own MCP servers and agent-first CLI tools for reliable LLM integration
Harden media upload paths to eliminate silent failures for non-human callers
Develop instrumentation and signals to measure agent behavior and success
Design ergonomic APIs and SDKs specifically optimized for autonomous agents
