The role involves performing the four core SPD functions: decontamination, prep and pack, sterilization, and dispatch, strictly adhering to AAMI, AORN, and CDC guidelines. Staff must maintain department organization, manage instrument logistics, and operate various processing and sterilization equipment with utmost accuracy.

Responsibilities

Perform decontamination, prep, pack, and sterilization of surgical instruments
Assemble supplies into case carts for scheduled and non-scheduled procedures
Operate processing equipment including steam sterilizers and instrument washers
Deliver sterile and non-sterile instrumentation to surgical departments
Maintain department organization and ensure equipment safety compliance
