About this role

The ACLU is seeking a Summer Legal Intern to join the Criminal Law Reform Project at its National Office in New York, NY or Washington, DC. This hybrid role supports litigation and integrated advocacy efforts focused on criminal legal system reform, police accountability, and civil rights. The intern will work alongside the team to advance the organization's mission of defending individual liberties and promoting racial justice.

Responsibilities

Conduct legal research and write memos and court submissions
Perform fact investigation to support litigation and advocacy
Assist in preparation for and during court cases including depositions
