About this role
An 8-week paid summer nurse externship for rising senior nursing students that pairs each student one-on-one with a Registered Nurse mentor across two clinical areas. Externs gain hands-on experience in ambulatory and/or inpatient settings, assist with routine patient care, and attend bi-weekly professional development sessions to support transition to practice. The program runs June 1–July 25, 2026, and is located at Carilion Clinic facilities in Roanoke, VA.
