Thesis Work - Mine Hoists CFD Simulation

This thesis position focuses on simulating airflows and skip movements in mine hoists using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to reduce energy usage and environmental impact. The role involves evaluating airflow changes in mine shafts, improving existing simulation environments, and developing simplified models for advanced control. The position is based at ABB Corporate Research in Västerås and runs for five months from January to June 2027.
