Tropical Cyclone SME

The Tropical Cyclone Subject Matter Expert (SME) at Stand is responsible for end-to-end ownership of wind and flood hazard modeling, focusing on large-scale tropical cyclone and localized property-scale simulations. This role involves designing, validating, and operationalizing models for production that support underwriting decisions, integrating them into the company’s modeling stack. Collaboration with engineering and applied science teams is essential for defining modeling standards, conducting validation, and ensuring physical consistency across scales. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in atmospheric modeling and a hands-on approach to building production-quality models.
