Jane Street is a global quantitative trading firm and liquidity provider that combines quantitative research, software engineering, and proprietary trading strategies to trade equities, bonds, options, futures and ETFs across major markets. The firm emphasizes technology-driven, low-latency systems and collaborative problem solving — it’s known for heavy engineering culture (including widespread use of OCaml) and rigorous risk management. Jane Street serves institutional counterparties and runs systematic and market-making operations to provide liquidity. It also recruits strongly from math, physics and computer science backgrounds and offers internships and graduate roles in trading, research, and engineering.
