About American YouthWorks

americanyouthworks.org

American Youthworks is a nonprofit that prepares underserved young people for careers and civic leadership through paid job training, education, and service-learning programs. They run YouthBuild and conservation-corps–style workforce programs that combine construction, environmental stewardship, and life-skills coaching so participants can earn industry certifications, high school diplomas or GEDs, and meaningful work experience. AYW partners with schools, employers, and public agencies to place graduates into living-wage jobs and community projects like trail building, habitat restoration, and affordable housing. Based in Austin, Texas, the organization emphasizes mentorship, real-world skills, and long-term pathways to employment and education.
