AI Automation Engineer at Route builds and deploys AI-powered workflows to automate complex, time-intensive processes, driving efficiency and productivity across the organization.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and deploy AI-powered workflows and agentic systems that automate complex, multi-step internal processes
Identify high-impact opportunities for automation by partnering cross-functionally with teams across the organization
Develop scripts, integrations, and system-to-system connections that enable seamless data flow and task execution
Leverage LLMs and emerging AI tooling to create intelligent, scalable solutions that reduce manual work and increase efficiency
Own projects end-to-end from discovery and design through implementation, testing, and iteration

Skills

Qualifications

5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong foundation in computer science fundamentalsProficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, Java, JavaScript)Experience designing, building, and deploying scalable, production-grade systems and servicesStrong experience with APIs, system integrations, and data flow across distributed systems (e.g., REST, event-driven architectures)Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS)
