Proxima Fusion
As the Alpha Plasma Microwave Modeler at Proxima Fusion, you will own the physics simulation pipeline connecting gyrotron sources to plasma performance in the Alpha stellarator. You will model wave propagation and absorption, develop integrated modeling frameworks, and build Python-based post-processing pipelines to guide hardware design decisions. This role requires sitting at the interface between plasma physics, RF engineering, and systems design to validate simulations against experimental data.
Proxima Fusion is Europe’s fastest-growing fusion startup, building the first generation of fusion power plants using quasi-isodynamic (QI) stellarators. They combine stellarator optimization, high-temperature superconducting magnets, and advanced computational design, drawing on decades of magnetic confinement fusion research and experience from the W7-X IPP program. Their Stellaris program advances scalable, robust stellarator concepts designed to deliver grid-scale fusion energy with a clear path to commercialization. The company aims to power the future with clean, safe, abundant fusion energy across Europe.
