GGR-Peat
The Employee Relations Advisor will provide specialist advice and guidance on a wide range of employee relations matters across UKCEH, supporting managers and employees with casework, investigations, and policy implementation. Working within a collaborative People team, the role focuses on ensuring fair, consistent application of HR policies, delivering training, and contributing to projects that enhance employee engagement, wellbeing, and organisational culture.
GGR-Peat is a UKRI-funded demonstrator project focused on restoring degraded UK peatlands to function as effective long-term greenhouse gas removal (GGR) systems through accelerated peat formation. The project develops and tests innovative land-management practices — including high water level management, Sphagnum re-establishment, and biochar application — to convert peatlands from major GHG emission sources into carbon sinks. It also quantifies environmental, social, and economic benefits, and develops pathways for scaling sustainable peatland restoration across the UK.
