Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre
The Indigenous Community Reintegration Caseworker provides reintegration and recovery supports to urban Indigenous individuals released from custody or on community supervision. This role involves connecting clients with community programs, coordinating culturally relevant services, and navigating the justice system to prevent recidivism. The caseworker collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate healing and deliver client-centered case management.
Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre (TBIFC) is one of the original six Friendship Centres in Ontario and a founding member of the Ontario Federation of Indigenous Friendship Centres (OFIFC). Based in Thunder Bay, it provides culturally grounded, client-centred supports across the life journey—helping Indigenous individuals and families access wellness, youth and family programming, employment/training, and community outreach. The centre promotes Indigenous culture, advocacy and connection to local services, aiming to improve social well‑being and access to supports for urban Indigenous populations. TBIFC works with partners and funders to deliver culturally safe programs tailored to community needs.
