About this role

This part-time Nursing Extern role at Banner Ogallala Community Hospital offers nursing students graduating within 12 months the opportunity to gain hands-on clinical experience under the direct supervision of a licensed registered nurse. The position allows externs to practice essential skills such as patient assessment, medication administration, and IV management while working in a Med/Surg-Hospital setting. Externs will participate in patient care planning, data collection, and interdisciplinary collaboration to support compassionate patient care.

Responsibilities

Assess patients and administer medications under RN supervision
Adjust IV pump rates and manage parenteral fluids and blood products
Initiate and titrate oxygen therapy while performing basic data collection in EMR
