Katzie First Nation (“Land of the Moss”) is the governing body of the Katzie people, an Indigenous nation in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia near Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge. The Nation provides local governance and community services—such as health, housing, education, and cultural programming—while advancing economic development and stewardship of its traditional territory. Katzie engages in partnerships with regional governments and industry, treaty and land-claims work, and community-led initiatives that centre traditional knowledge and cultural revitalization. Their priorities include sustainable resource management, intergenerational well‑being, and strengthening cultural identity.
