About this role

The Registered Practical Nurse provides clinical support and direct care to patients on the E2 Inpatient Orthopedic Surgical unit, primarily focusing on lower extremity Total Joint Replacement. This role involves assessing patient care needs, implementing healthcare plans, and collaborating with Registered Nurses and interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality nursing care. The position requires rotating shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Provide clinical support and direct nursing care to patients
Assess patient care needs and implement healthcare plans
Report changes in patient status and collaborate with RNs

Skills

Qualifications

Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical NurseCurrent Certificates or current Community College studies in asepsis, wound care, airway management, complex wound care, patient assessment, urinary catheterization, administering enteral feeds, Medication administration, transcribing ordersCurrent Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or equivalent
