Neurophos
Neurophos is seeking a Senior Laser Test & Characterization Engineer to build and operate the test and characterization bench for lasers and optical amplifiers used in their photonic AI processors. The role involves measuring key laser parameters such as relative intensity noise, phase noise, and timing jitter, while collaborating with internal teams to establish performance specifications. This hands-on lab position requires expertise in electro-optics and photonics to drive source selection and vendor evaluations.
Neurophos builds photonic AI processors designed for large-scale inference workloads. Their flagship product, the T100 OPU (Optical Processing Unit), delivers exaflop-scale inference at 50× the speed and 30× the energy efficiency of leading GPUs like the NVIDIA B200, by performing matrix multiplication in the photonic domain on a compact 25mm² CMOS-compatible die. The T100 compresses rack-level AI compute into a single package, with the Tulkas T100 scheduled to ship in 2028.
