About this role

A Test Engineer at Starlight plans, builds, and executes tests to validate materials and chemistry for perovskite solar cells used in space applications. The role involves setting up test stands, running degradation studies, and developing data workflows to connect chemistry decisions to device performance and stability. Engineers in this position collaborate with cross-functional teams to design experiments and qualify high-reliability aerospace hardware.

Responsibilities

Execute test campaigns characterizing perovskite materials, films, and devices
Build and operate glovebox-based test setups for thin-film characterization
Run stability and degradation tests under controlled environmental conditions
Build data acquisition and analysis workflows for high-throughput characterization
Investigate test anomalies and partner with teams to close issues

Skills

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, applied physics, or electrical engineeringMaster’s or PhD in a relevant discipline (preferred)
