Southern Poverty Law Center

The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) is a U.S. nonprofit civil‑rights organization dedicated to advancing racial justice and protecting the rights of marginalized communities, particularly Black and Brown people. It pursues this mission through impact litigation, policy advocacy, public education, community organizing, and investigative work — including monitoring and exposing hate and extremist groups. SPLC also provides educational resources, publishes research and reports, and advocates on issues such as voting rights, immigrant justice, LGBTQ equity, and economic fairness.
