The Cultural Resource Coordinator will coordinate and support cultural knowledge transfer, traditional teachings, and ceremonies for the Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre, focusing on children, youth, and families. The role promotes cultural awareness, safety, and competency while fostering healing and reconciliation within the community.
Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre (TBIFC) is one of the original six Friendship Centres in Ontario and a founding member of the Ontario Federation of Indigenous Friendship Centres (OFIFC). Based in Thunder Bay, it provides culturally grounded, client-centred supports across the life journey—helping Indigenous individuals and families access wellness, youth and family programming, employment/training, and community outreach. The centre promotes Indigenous culture, advocacy and connection to local services, aiming to improve social well‑being and access to supports for urban Indigenous populations. TBIFC works with partners and funders to deliver culturally safe programs tailored to community needs.
